Suzuki's new Swift Sport gets 138bhp from 1.4-litre turbo, but boasts tiny, sub-tonne curb weight
The new Suzuki Swift Sport has made its full debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show, and the firm has now revealed some of the vital specifications buried under the skin of its new Ford Fiesta ST rival.
As expected, the new Swift Sport gets turbo power in the form of a 1.4-litre BoosterJet four-cylinder engine borrowed from the Vitara S. The engine provides the Swift Sport with 138bhp and 230Nm of torque, and sends drive to the front wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox. The transmission is the same found in the last iteration of the firm’s hot hatch, but has been re-engineered to improve shift smoothness and feedback.
